A small house.  Evening.

P.: I think it is my bedtime.  I'm going to sleep.
S.: Okay!  I will stay up and read for a bit.
P. goes to bed, offstage.  Pause.  Sounds of sleeping from offstage.
Enter Chorus.
Chorus: Waow!  Waow!  Rwaoww!  Yaaaaarw!  Runs madly back and forth across stage.  Waaaow!  Waaow!  Aaarrrww!
[Translation: ONE SLEEPS — WHILE THE OTHER — READS! 
WOE!  WOE BETIDE US!  WOE! 
ONE SLEEPS — WHILE THE OTHER — WAKES! 
WAKE, O SLEEPER, AWAKEN!]
S.: sotto voce.  Cammie!  Cammie, damn it, shut up.
Chorus: Waaaooooww!  Waaaoooww!
[Translation: CHAOS!  DOOM!  THE UNIVERSAL ORDER OVERTHROWN!]
Sounds of waking from offstage.
S.: Okay, fine, I'll go to bed.
Chorus: Waaoow!
[Translation: BED! TO BED — FOR PEACE!]
Exeunt S. and Chorus.

Seriously.  I don't get it either, but this is always how it goes.  Woe!
